The Rocknrod Web Site is 11 years old.

The Rocknrod web site turned 11 years old September 14th, 2006. It's hard to imagine that it's first version went online back on September 14th, 1995. It was defintiely a very small page at that time. Simply giving news and updates about our first series of car Shows called Rock 'N Rod Nites held at the Watsonville Square Shopping Center in Watsonville, California. Here we are 11 years later, still plugging away, but with a site that really does dwarf that beginnging page. Here's to many more years hopefully with the help of all you who continually visit and support the current site... Thank you, you are appreciated.

New $5.00 Flyer Fee has been put in to effect at Rocknrod.

With the flyer work load so out of hand this year, the decision to charge a flat $5.00 fee was put into place. The average flyer takes almost 15 minutes to re-work and get online from start to finish. The flyers are left in place till the annual Rocknrod web site update Dec 31st. This allows the shows who utilize the online flyers here, to take advantage of Rocknrod's page rank 4 rating. So it is a cheap way of promoting their shows when they do not have a web presence of their own. So if you haven't considered it, think of Rocknrod at flyer time.

The Rocknrod web site gets a new look.

After a number of years using the red website, the look and feel of the site has been updated. When Rocknrod first started out it used a dark blue color scheme. I decided to go back to that sort of a look. It will take a while for all the pieces to be renovated, but I think you will already find that most of the sections are already complete.

This has been a very busy car show season. The flyers were stacking up faster than they could be reworked and placed online. At the moment, there have been over 530+ flyers placed online here at Rocknrod for download. Many of them are 2 sided with additional info on the back or the Registration form. To get to the California Flyer section, use this link: CLICK HERE

FYI - Why your browser has www.hughsoncommunitycenter.com

A couple of years ago, I had a problem logging into the Rocknrod.com web. I owned the domain hughsoncommunitycenter.com which was not going to be used. So a quick way to fix the problem was to point the rocknrod.com site to HCC domain on the server and log into HCC to do all the updating. So for the last couple of years, that's what has been happening. Occasionly, if I'm not on top of things, hughsoncommunitycenter.com appears instead of rocknrod.com. If I don't change it, it gets coded in. For search engines, all it takes is a single instance and the entire site is cataloged by the searchbots. So you may arrive here from a search engine that has done just that. So if it states hughsoncommunitycenter.com, and you wanted rocknrod.com, that is where you are. you can type rocknrod where you see hughsoncommunitycenter.com and the page will reload the same only the domain name will now be correct.
