The location of the show was Downtown Hughson's Hughson
Avenue. |
The September Nites Event seemed
to be well received. If you were a Street Rodder or Classic Car
enthusiast then this was the place to be. I talked to Gene Adams
for a few minutes and he stated that there were close to 80
entries in the Car Show portion of the event.
At the 5th street end of the event, the kids were bouncing away in
the inflatable bounce house in front of the Sovereign Grace
Community Church, while others were trying their best to hit the
bulls eye at the dunk tank under the Church Shade tent. At the
opposite end of the event near the raffle area, you could buy
cakes & cookies and other baked goodies at the bake sale.
At the same time the event was going on, blood donors were taken
to another place in town where they actually gave blood. As I was
leaving, I heard they were up to 68 pints of blood donated
throughout the day and evening.
The Voss family was in attendance and Mr. Voss thanked the crowd
from his wheel chair, his wife was with him.
Hamilton's Cafe did a great job on the Hamburgers, but remember to
always keep your napkin when you give your daughter the stuff you
don't think you need...:)
Like the Charity Car Show at Kenny's Rod Shop in August, the
raffle was big again, along with the silent auction. Gene MC'd the
show and was as good as ever. So when you here that the September
Nites Event is coming up next year, be sure to attend... remember
that the purpose of the event is to help someone from here who
could really use some hometown support. |
